- Check if the wheels are centered between the fork and the scissors.
- Check that the brake "shoes" "press" at the correct height on the rim of the wheel.
- Checking the stroke of the cuff.
- Sprinkle the bike and "ear" the bike for strange sounds.
- Check that the gear case you are carrying is properly positioned and secured.
- Check that the pump is securely fastened.
- Check that the front wheel is securely fastened by stopping it with the brake and trying to turn it.
After the ride
- Check and clean the wheels, if necessary (stones, thorns, etc.)
- If it is quite dirty, a good wash, taking care not to get too much water on the moving parts (bearings, bearings, moving mechanisms, etc.), is necessary. Wipe it down and let it dry thoroughly.
- Dry the wet chain and pour some lubricant.
Service frequency
For the smooth operation of your bike, it is advisable to have a basic check two to three times a year, depending on the use of the bike. Frequent check-ups will prevent hassle on the road and most importantly ensure a safe, functional and well-maintained bike that will provide you with pleasure and performance.
This check should include checking tyres, brakes, chain and gear oiling. Contact a specialist shop that will offer organised servicing and repair in the event of a breakdown.
By doing so, you ensure safe and secure rides for you, longevity and functionality of your bike.
